Gary Neville says Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane would help Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United win the Premier League title after their League Cup success on Sunday, as he told The Overlap.
The Manchester United legend added that the Spurs hitman, who he worked with during his days as England coach, would be ‘loved’ by the dressing room, players and fans at Old Trafford.
The only issue for Neville was the 29-year-old’s age, how he is in the latter stages of his career and if he is worth signing if Spurs chairman Daniel Levy demands ‘£150 million’ for the player.

Come the summer, Kane will have 12 months remaining on his Tottenham contract. He either signs on the dotted line or heads for the exit door.
If he does leave, many can’t see him going abroad, which opens the door for Manchester United because they are in the perfect position to nab him given their need for that number nine, who can drop deep and play.
Kane’s former teammate, Christian Eriksen, spent several years at Spurs, but within his first season at Manchester United, he has a trophy, so perhaps that is a sign to the England captain, as Neville shared his thoughts.
“I have worked with him,” said Neville. “He is gold Harry Kane. He will score 30 goals. He will get 10-15 assists and that’s an absolute fact. He’s a professional, the dressing room will love him, he’ll fit in straightaway and he’s a guarantee for Manchester United.
“But if he’s going to cost £150 million, and he’s 30, then it’s short-lived. But Casemiro, we all said it, £60 million, which is £20 million a year for five years is £170 million investment. That is a massive investment. It’s not a smart or shrewd signing when you look at it from a point of view, but the impact he is having in the short term and what Manchester United need now. He is devastating for them.
“Harry Kane is the type of player that could take you to the title. He will just connect the whole of the midfield. He’ll score goals. The fans will love him and the players will love him. I don’t see how you go wrong with him.
“But, for the long term, it wouldn’t be something that would work. He has five years left in his career, so I don’t think there is a problem with that. It’s just he is in the latter part of his career.”

KANE NEEDS TO LEAVE
Whether it’s Manchester United or Bayern Munich, those trophies now need to be added to the goal-crazy star’s cabinet.
He has Tottenham’s all-time record in the bank. The England one will follow suit and there’s no reason why he can’t break Alan Shearer’s 260.
Now, he doesn’t need to stay at Spurs to do that, but the questions remain. Does he still want to leave? And will Man United be willing to throw big money at the player? If any of those are answered yes, then there is every chance he heads for the exit door in the summer.
