Liverpool lead race for Manchester United and Newcastle United target Mason Mount
The Mirror have reported that Liverpool are in pole position for Mount, who is in talks with Chelsea over a new deal.
An earlier report in The Daily Mail reported that Liverpool are determined to sign Chelsea midfielder Mount and are pushing hard to get a deal done.Contract talks between Mount and Chelsea are not going well.
The 24-year-old is on £80,000 per week as salary, and he reportedly wants £240,000 per week.
90min reported this month that Manchester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Liverpool all want to sign Mount, described as “energetic” by former Reds star Stan Collymore in CaughtOffSide this month.

Exciting
In our view, it is very good news for Liverpool fans that they are leading the race for Mason Mount.
Manchester United are a club who are on the up and could end up in the Premier League top four this season.
Newcastle United, too, could finish in the UEFA Champions League places.
Liverpool may not.
So, getting a player of Mount’s quality and talent ahead of Manchester United and Newcastle United would be massive for Liverpool, who need younger and more dynamic player in their midfield.
