As Arsenal prepare to face Everton, U-18s head coach Jack Wilshere has lavished praise onto youngsters such as Ethan Nwaneri, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Jimi Gower and Bradley Ibrahim.

On Monday, it was reported that Lewis-Skelly was set to sign a 2-year contract, while Nwaneri’s historic Premier League debut this season left a certain Arteta purring, which goes to show that these prospects are already making headlines.

Now, Jack Wilshere, who was once regarded as a generational talent himself seems to be blown away by a bunch of Arsenal youngsters, ahead of his club’s clash against Everton.

Considering the former Gunners midfielder and England international was always hailed for how naturally gifted he always was, his seal of approval is a big green flag for the club, who aim to see these youngsters attain first-team status one day.

In an interview with The Athletic, ahead of the senior team’s clash with Everton, Jack Wilshere raved about 4 Arsenal youngsters specifically.

“It depends what you are”, he initially answered, when quizzed about what he demands from midfielders.

The ex-West Ham United man continued, “There are some things you can see from Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Bradley Ibrahim, Jim Gower; they do things you can’t coach. That’s why they are at Arsenal.”

“They need a few things tactically. I like my midfielders to be on the half turn, play forward and touch forward, dribble if you can.”

Arsenal could build a scary team for the future

As Jack Wilshere waxes lyrical about the 4 Arsenal youngsters ahead of the club’s clash with Everton, one harks back to the youthful torchbearers they already have in Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah and Emile Smith-Rowe.

Just recently as well, the likes of Myles Lewis-Skelly, Amario Cozier-Duberry and Charles Sagoe Jr. have been spotted in first team-training.
