Simon Jordan has blasted Amanda Staveley over her comments after Newcastle United lost to Manchester United in the Carabao Cup Final.
In an interview with talkSPORT, the Magpies co-owner spoke at length about how she was humbled by the fans’ support even at 2-0 down, which was praised by Micah Richards before the game. Furthermore, she promised that the club would win every major trophy in the future.
However, it seems Simon Jordan was especially puzzled by how humble Amanda Staveley was coming across after the Carabao Cup Final.
Simon Jordan criticises Amanda Staveley after Carabao Cup Final comments
It is likely that the renowned pundit’s criticism will incense the St. James’ Park faithful, as they must have felt extremely connected to their own after her sentimental comments.
On talkSPORT, Simon Jordan, after initially praising the job Amanda Staveley had done at Newcastle slated her comments after the Carabao Cup Final.
“Does that mean I like the ownership model? No. Does that mean I admire it anymore? Not particularly. I think they have done what they anticipated they would do and I don’t understand this, it’s a PR spin.”

“You knew you were buying a football club where that if you went to a League Cup Final, you would inundate London so let’s dial down the fake humility and be aware of what you have there. I think it’s ridiculous to turn around and say you didn’t expect that”, Simon Jordan said about Amanda Stavenley after her post-match comments about Newcastle United’s fan support during the Carabao Cup Final.
“If I went and bought Newcastle and set the town on fire, I knew that Newcastle getting to the cup final, inundated because that’s what you got, you have this remarkable fan base. I think it’s a wonderful PR spin.”
Well, ultimately, it is expected that Newcastle fans will pay no mind to the comments made by Simon Jordan and instead even feel closer than they do to Amanda Staveley after the Carabao Cup Final.
