Pundit Garth Crooks has praised Cristian Romero as a ‘revelation’ for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur side.
Crooks has named Romero in his Team of the Week for BBC Sport, joining Rico Lewis and Lisandro Martinez in defence.
Crooks hailed Romero for his performance against Chelsea as Tottenham kept a clean sheet in a 2-0 win.
The former Tottenham striker added that he thinks Romero has been a ‘revelation’ since joining Tottenham in 2021.
Crooks noted that he is a ‘massive fan’ of Romero and thinks he is the best signing Tottenham have made in some time.
Romero was outstanding against Tottenham and will be delighted to have picked up two clean sheets in a row.

Cristian Romero proving to be one of Paratici’s best Tottenham signings
Fabio Paratici was absolutely vital as Tottenham snapped up Romero in 2021.
Paratici had already signed Romero once before having snapped him for Juventus, where he failed to make an appearance.
The Italian didn’t forget about Romero though and secured a deal to take him on loan from Atalanta.
Spurs turned the move permanent for £42.5million last summer, securing Romero’s future for years to come.
Add in wages of around £165,000-a-week according to Spotrac and Tottenham invested a lot in Romero.
The 24-year-old has his detractors, mostly outside of Tottenham.
Some see him as overrated and too rash, but Spurs fans absolutely love him and wouldn’t happily let him go.
That aggressive nature is just never going to leave Romero’s game and he was superb for Argentina in the World Cup final against France.
Romero looks like being a player Tottenham build around for a long time and whilst Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski are up there, Romero may well be Paratici’s best Spurs signing so far.
