According to 90min. Sean Dyche’s Everton and David Moyes’s West Ham United are among the clubs interested in signing former Manchester United central defender Chris Smalling in the summer transfer window.
Everton and West Ham United linked with Chris Smalling
The report has claimed that Fulham, Everton, Leicester City and West Ham all want to secure the services of Smalling in the summer of 2023.
The former Manchester United defender is out of contract at AS Roma at the end of the season, although there is a one-year option in his deal.

Going back
In our view, Everton should try to find a central defender who is younger than Chris Smalling.
Now, we know that the defender has done well in Italy and has revived his career at Roma since joining the Italian club from Manchester United, first on loan and then on a permanent basis for £18 million (Sky Sports).
However, he is 33 years of age now.
This is not to say that Smalling cannot play at the top level for a few more years but if Everton are to rebuild after this season – if they survive in the Premier League – then they need to find younger players.
