Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli has shared on Premier League Productions the simple but effective message from manager Mikel Arteta ahead of the Premier League match against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium today.

Martinelli has said that Arteta told the Arsenal players that they simply had to win against Leicester today.

The Gunners have got the better of the Foxes 1-0 on the road today.

Brazil international forward Martinelli scored the only goal of the match in the opening minute of the second half.

Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 57 points from 24 matches.

Defending champions Manchester City are second with 52 points from 24 games.

Martinelli said: “We knew it would be a tough match, but I think we deserved it and we worked hard for the three points.I am so happy with the goal, and with the victory.

“The manager said we had to win in any context, and in this league you have to win matches in this way.”

Impressive

In our view, Arsenal are going on about their business like a championship-winning team should.

Arteta clearly wants to win matches at any cost, and that is the mentality of champions.

Now, Arsenal do tend to play good football, but you cannot always entertain the fans.

At times, you have to grind out results and pick up points without playing pretty football.

Arsenal were not at their best against Leicester, but the North London club got the job done in the end.
