Eintracht Frankfurt sporting director Markus Krosche has dismissed rumours that he is ready to join Liverpool amid reports that the Reds are interested in the German.

Speaking to Sport1, the UEFA Champions League and Bundesliga official revealed that talk of a move to Liverpool in the summer is just speculation, with Krosche revealing that he’s very happy in Germany with Frankfurt following two successful years at the club.

Krosche said when asked about rumours linking the German with a move to Anfield: “It’s speculation. You have to ask the person who wrote it. I’m here and happy to be at Eintracht Frankfurt. We still have a lot planned and have developed very, very well. There is nothing more to say about it.”

The Athletic were the ones who reported that Liverpool had set their sights on Krosche, who has enjoyed immense success with the likes of Frankfurt and RB Leipzig in a sporting director role, with Julian Ward set to leave the Reds just one year into the job.

Indeed, given the sheer scale of Liverpool’s rebuilding job this summer, the Reds need the best possible person at the helm to solve their crisis, and Krosche could be an ideal candidate given his work with Frankfurt in recent years, with the German taking the Bundesliga side to a UEFA Europa League title.

Whilst the man himself has said that a move is unlikely, we all know football isn’t ever this black and white, and Liverpool have the resources and the pull to bring Krosche to Merseyside in the coming months, something that must happen sooner rather than later.

Frankfurt’s rise in both Germany and in Europe has been impressive, and Krosche has played a major role in this journey. And for Liverpool, the Reds must do all they can to bring the Bundesliga sporting director to Anfield, who could be the new mastermind behind a total rebuild on Merseyside.

As we know, Krosche has done well to find bargains in the market and to identify players who have taken his Frankfurt side to a new level, and Klopp could flourish under the sporting director if Liverpool push hard enough to bring the German to Anfield.
