Tottenham have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Fenerbahce goalkeeper Altay Bayindir at the end of the season, with Newcastle United also linked with the Turkish talent.
According to Fotospor, the north London side have struck a gentleman’s agreement with the 24-year-old shot-stopper, with Bayindir’s contract expected to end this summer as Tottenham have seemingly found their long-term replacement for club captain Hugo Lloris.
Goalkeeper is a key position for Tottenham to strengthen in the off-season, with Lloris’ age and recent injury problems only now just alerting the likes of Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici that a new main man between the sticks should be signed to replace the veteran Frenchman.
And if this report from Turkey is to be believed, then the man Tottenham have identified to fill this role is Bayindir, who has been one of the best keepers in the Turkish Super Lig this season as well as a recent regular for the Crescent-Stars’ national team.

Indeed, Tottenham have been linked with Bayindir in the past, yet it is Newcastle who have come the closest to signing the keeper, with A Spor reporting in 2021 that the Toon made a £14m bid for the young shot-stopper before settling on Nick Pope the following summer.
Lauded as ‘special’ by Fenerbahce president Ali Koc, Bayindir has been tipped with a move to the Premier League for some time, and the keeper now looks set to win his dream transfer to England, with Tottenham an ideal destination for the 24-year-old.
Bayindir could prove to be a bargain signing for Tottenham

Tottenham have moved fast to find a long-term replacement for Lloris, and in Bayindir, the Turkish international could prove to be a bargain signing for the north London club if the Fenerbahce star adapts to life in England as quickly as many would expect the keeper to do so.
At 24, Tottenham have done well to sign a young keeper with many years ahead of him to develop and get used to playing for the club, with a year as an understudy to Lloris a decision that could go a long way in getting the youngster ready to succeed in the Premier League.
