West Ham will reportedly sack David Moyes if the Irons lose to Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest on the weekend, with the Hammers currently sat in the relegation zone.

According to the Times, the Scottish manager’s time will be up in east London if West Ham are once again on the losing side, with Moyes and his me currently sat 18th in the standings having won just five games all season and suffering defeat in 13.

Whilst West Ham are through to the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa Conference League, this one small glimmer of hope won’t be enough to save Moyes from the sack, with the former Sunderland and Manchester United boss enduring one of his worst seasons ever as a Premier League manager.

Despite spending big in the summer and leading West Ham to back-to-back European finishes, everything has fallen apart this season for the Irons, and Moyes is now in line for the sack if Forest beat the Hammers at the London Stadium this Saturday.

Indeed, Forest head to the English capital off the back of a draw against Manchester City and recent wins against Leeds United and Leicester City, and for West Ham, Steve Cooper’s side could be the team that puts the nail in the coffin for Moyes’ second spell in east London.

Whilst Moyes has led West Ham to their most successful period in both English and European football this century, there’s no denying that a change has to be made if there is another defeat, with the Glasgow-born coach the figure who will have to take the fall depending on what happens on Saturday.

Nobody can write off the incredible work Moyes has done at West Ham, with the former Red Devils manager leading the Irons to an unprecedented UEFA Europa League semi-final and bringing ‘the West Ham Way’ back to east London after years of underachievements.

However, even if West Ham are to win on Saturday, Moyes being sacked this season feels inevitable, and supporters will be hopeful that the Irons have a replacement in mind when the decision is ultimately made to let the Scottish manager walk.
