Turkish outlet Sabah claim that SuperLig side Fenerbahce are finalising a deal to sign Tottenham Hotspur attacker Lucas Moura, in a move that will see the Brazilian move to Turkey now. The Brazilian has a three-year offer on the table.

Moura, 30, has spent the last five years at Spurs having joined the club from PSG in January 2018. He has gone on to play 213 times in all competitions for the North London side – having a hand in 65 goals. But his deal ends in June.

His season so far has been ravaged by injury. Just 11 appearances in both league and cup, starting only twice – in the Champions League. He has played nine times in the Premier League but all nine outings have come from the bench.

With Moura expected to leave at the end of the season, it seems Spurs are now willing to sanction his exit. Indeed, with everyone fit, he finds himself behind Son Heung-min, Deki Kulusevski, Richarlison and new signing Arnaut Danjuma.

Fenerbahce have decided to move. Even with the transfer window closing, it is claimed they are set to add Moura to their squad ‘immediately’. The SuperLig giants have offered Moura a three-year deal worth around £43,000 a week.

It is right that Moura probably leaves the club. He has been a loyal servant to Spurs over the last five years and has always given his all – a well-liked member of the team among fans. But, his importance has reduced at Spurs this term.

Injuries have begin to ramp up. With Danjuma joining on a loan-to-buy basis, the need for Moura is less and if he has the choice to go to a club he wants to join – why should Spurs stop him. He will go on a free in the summer, anyway.
