According to the BBC, Leeds United have finally found their replacement for Jesse Marsch in the shape of Javi Gracia.

The Spanish manager is supposedly set to be appointed as the manager of the Yorkshire club in the coming hours, ending the lengthy search for Jesse Marsch’s replacement.

After looking at the likes of Carlos Corberan and Andoni Iraola, Leeds have eventually settled on another Spaniard in the shape of Gracia.

The former Watford boss has been out of work for a little while after leaving Al-Sadd, but now, he’s set to return to the English top flight.

Gracia was last seen in England being sacked by Watford, but to sum-up his time at Vicarage Road by just speaking about his departure would be unfair.

Gracia actually did a very good job with the Hornets before it went downhill at the start of the 2019/20 season.

He took the Hertfordshire club to an FA Cup final in 2019, while he had them on the verge of a Europa League spot before their form dipped at the end of the season as they focused on their cup commitments.

He also won one Premier League Manager of the Month award back in August 2018.

Of course, Leeds are still in the FA Cup this year, they face Fulham in the Fifth Round in a couple of weeks’ time, and Gracia could be the perfect manager to inspire another unlikely cup run.

The FA Cup is a secondary focus for Leeds though. The Whites currently sit in the Premier League relegation zone, and they need to start picking up points in the league before they get any ideas of making a run of it in the cup.

Leeds went all around the houses when looking for their new manager, but it looks as though they’ve finally found their man.
