90 Min have reported that Aston Villa are keen on a summer transfer for Tammy Abraham, who has been linked with a switch to Arsenal.

While it seemed as if there was a slight chance that the England international could join Mikel Arteta’s side in January after Gabriel Jesus’ long-term injury, the move was ruled out. After enjoying a stellar campaign at Roma last season, he has endured a sizable fall from grace, scoring a mere 6 goals in Serie A so far.

Even so, Aston Villa seem interested in signing Tammy Abraham, who has previously admitted to being a boyhood Arsenal fan, and has been speculated with heading to the Emirates Stadium in the past, and Ian Wright once admitted he would love to see him in a red and white shirt, as relayed by Football.London.

Aston Villa set their sights on a move for Arsenal target Tammy Abraham

The Villains certainly need a No.9 as well, with Danny Ings’ departure to West Ham and Ollie Watkins not firing on all cylinders, while the Gunners perhaps still lack an out-and-out goal machine up front.

According to a report by 90 Min, Aston Villa are tempted by a summer swoop for the ‘unbelievable’ Tammy Abraham, who has previously been speculated with joining Arsenal.

In addition, it has been claimed that Roma are ready to discuss offers to sell the former Chelsea striker for any fees in excess of £40 million, who is not eyeing a return to Stamford Bridge.

In our view: Arsenal should look at other targets

A romantic return to Aston Villa where Tammy Abraham first made his name on loan would make for a heart-warming storyline in a sense but Arsenal should perhaps aim higher at this point.

The 2nd placed team in the Premier League have been linked with goalscorers such as Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic, who are more prolific in front of goal and have better all-round games.
