Andy Townsend has praised Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins on PremierLeague.com for his first-half goal against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal at Villa Park in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The former Chelsea player was hugely impressed by Watkins for the way he scored for Villa in the fifth minute of the Premier League game against Arsenal today.
Townsend, a former Villa star, has raved about the forward’s attributes, saying that he cannot think of a more generous centre-forward than him.
Andy Townsend on Ollie Watkins for Aston Villa v Arsenal
Townsend said about Watkins’s goal: “What a goal, what a brilliant, brilliant goal.
“I can’t think of a more willing, more generous centre forward in the League when it comes to running.
“He times that run to absolute perfection. Brilliant finish, giving Aaron Ramsdale no chance whatsoever.”

Quality player
Ollie Watkins has not always had the best of times at Aston Villa, but he is a very good forward.
The 27-year-old forward did well at Brentford, and we believe that the England international is doing relatively well at Villa.
It does not help a player when there are managerial changes at a club.
It does affect them.
And perhaps that is what has happened with Watkins in recent times.
However, we think that under former Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain head coach Unai Emery, Watkins could flourish.
The forward himself has to make the most of the chances that he will get.
