Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp are interested in raiding Chelsea for Mason Mount – but Erik ten Hag now wants him at Manchester United.
That’s according to ESPN, who claim that Mount is reluctant to sign a long-term deal at Chelsea.
Mount has seen a raft of signings pen lengthy deals spanning seven or eight years and doesn’t want to do the same.
Add in that Mount wants a huge raise on the £80,000-a-week he currently earns and Chelsea are struggling to keep him.
Mount is into the final 18 months of his Chelsea deal and could leave Graham Potter’s side this summer – though talks are expected to continue.
Liverpool and Manchester City both fancy signing Mount whilst Manchester United are understood to have joined the race.
Mount is allegedly open to joining another English club despite his affection for Chelsea, though there is a foreign option with Juventus keen.
Mount was always bound to attract interest and Chelsea’s ‘big six’ rivals seem to be circling with intent ahead of the summer window.

In our view, this all part of the negotiating.
There have been plenty of noises lately about Mount possibly leaving and even joining a Premier League rival.
Mount divides opinion at times but there is surely no way the Blues would want to be seen to losing a homegrown star to a direct rival.
We can see why Erik ten Hag, Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola would all be keen.
Mount is a hard worker and has the quality on the ball needed at the highest level.
Maybe Mount can be a little inconsistent but at 24 there is still plenty of untapped potential.
Liverpool and Manchester United may hope for a rather cheeky summer deal but we think Mount will end up staying at Chelsea.
