Writing in his column for The Telegraph, Jamie Carragher has been discussing the Leeds United managerial situation and Sean Dyche.
The Sky pundit has bemoaned Leeds for their lack of planning after sacking Jesse Marsch, and he’s pointed out what he thinks the club needs to do next.
For Carragher, the answer is simple, he believes that Leeds need to appoint a defensively sound coach who will stop them from conceding too many goals.
Somewhat ironically, Carragher said that Sean Dyche, who has just been hired by Everton, would have been a strong candidate for Leeds.

Dyche could’ve been good
Carragher discussed Leeds and Dyche.
“If Leeds can find a coach who will prevent them from giving away so many goals, they will have a good chance of survival. In some respects, Dyche would have been a strong candidate to replace Marsch, but I suspect there would have been a debate about whether he was the ‘right fit’. The same could be said of Southampton,” Carragher wrote.
Get someone similar
Leeds are in a situation right now where they don’t need to make a so-called fashionable appointment, they need someone who can keep them up and that’s why they should be after someone like Dyche.
Whether that’s Sam Allardyce, Roy Hodgson or another defensive-minded coach whose navigated these waters before, Leeds should be looking for someone who can just shore up this side and get them over the line come the end of the season.
Wait until the summer to make a long-term appointment, for now, the Whites just need someone who will keep them up.
