Chelsea star Mason Mount knows two Premier League teams are interested in his transfer whilst contract talks continue. Liverpool are also considering a move to sign the midfielder.
That is according to Dean Jones, who reports Mount is still yet to commit to signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge. The England international wants to be 100% convinced he will be a success in the Blues’ long-term visions. Otherwise, the 24-year-old will consider leaving.
Mount only has 16 months remaining on his existing £80-a-week deal in west London. The Blues have sought to negotiate a new deal with the Portsmouth-born technician. But he is keeping his options open while discussions continue knowing that other clubs admire him.

Liverpool are keeping tabs on the progress of Mount and Chelsea’s discussions over a new contract in view of his transfer. Anfield chiefs appreciate what the 36-cap star would offer on Merseyside with any move. But they will face rival approaches from Premier League teams.
Mount knows that two big Premier League clubs would explore his transfer if his talks with Chelsea collapsed. Jones does not cite which teams the Blues product believes are keen on him are. But 90min has listed Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle United.

Chelsea are yet to offer Mount a contract to please the Liverpool transfer target
The Evening Standard also reports Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is handling negotiations with Mount about a new contract. But the midfielder wants the Blues to increase his wage to be paid in line with his England teammates. Boehly had eyed a cheaper but longer deal.
Boehly and Mount’s disparities in valuations of his new contract have complicated talks in recent months. Should Chelsea fail to make progress before the summer, they may also be inclined to consider his sale. Even though the midfielder is an important part of their team.

Mount has started 19 of his 21 Premier League appearances for three goals and two assists so far this season. He has also laid on four assists in seven Champions League ties. While his work in Europe against Real Madrid last year stunned then-teammate Antonio Rudiger.
“What a player that boy is,” Rudiger told The Players’ Tribune. “Seriously, elite mentality. Sometimes I have to ask myself: ‘Is this guy really that young?’ The way he moves, the way he carries himself, it’s not like he’s 23. Against Madrid, he was just phenomenal.”
Mount’s performances now have Liverpool interested in his transfer if he does not sign a new contract with Chelsea. But the Reds will not be alone if the Blues do decide to cash in.
