Everton are now planning to sign Noa Lang of Club Brugge in the summer transfer window with a bid in the offing. But the Toffees will only make a move if the club avoids relegation.

That is according to Calciomercato, which reports Everton are plotting a big-money bid for Lang. Goodison Park chiefs appreciate what the 23-year-old can add on Merseyside with a move this summer. But the club will only pull the trigger if they are a Premier League side.

Everton are fighting to avoid relegation to the Championship and have hired Sean Dyche to steady the ship. The Toffees edged Arsenal 1-0 in their first game under the Kettering-born coach. Yet Liverpool beat their Stanley Park neighbours 2-0 to leave Everton in 18th place.

Dyche must protect Everton’s top-flight status to see the Toffees pose an appealing option for Lang to leave Club Brugge. The six-cap Netherlands winger is also a long-term target of AC Milan. San Siro chiefs are tracking his form in view of a renewed approach this summer.

Lang, though, is very popular with Everton chiefs, who are plotting a big-money bid for his transfer from Club Brugge. The Capelle aan den Ijssel native has scored seven goals during his 24 appearances so far this season. He has also laid on three assists in all competitions.

Everton are not alone in showing an interest in Lang’s transfer from Club Brugge

Lang was aware that Leeds United were also interested in his transfer in January, per Dean Jones. The Elland Road natives are long-term admirers of the forward but their stance may now change after sacking Jesse Marsch. The Whites fired the American coach last Monday.

Yet Leeds and Everton are far from the only teams to register an interest in Lang’s transfer from Club Brugge. Jeunes Footeux also reported ahead of the mid-season window that AS Monaco were considering a move. But the Blauw-Zwart sought to earn a €40m (£35m) fee.

West Ham United, too, have observed Lang’s situation at the Jan Breydel Stadium, also per Jones. While Voetbal Belgie has linked Aston Villa with an interest in the Dutchman. It adds that Lang also rejected Leeds last summer for AC Milan and still wants to move to San Siro.

AC Milan did not secure Lang’s transfer from Club Brugge as the Rossoneri elected to sign Charles De Ketelaere. The Rossoneri paid the Blauw-Zwart €32m (£27m) and €3m (£2.5m) in add-ons. Now, they may have to fight Everton to seal Lang’s transfer from Club Brugge.
