Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal could sell Folarin Balogun at the end of the season amid interest from a number of clubs, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano in CaughtOffSide.

The Italian journalist has reported that clubs in England, France and Germany are interested in signing Balogun from Arsenal in the summer of 2023.

The 21-year-old striker is on loan at Ligue 1 club Reims at the moment.

The youngster joined the French outfit in the summer of 2022.

Balogun has scored 15 goals in the French domestic league already this season.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been hugely impressed, describing the striker’s form as “incredible” on the club’s official website last week.

However, according to Romano, Arsenal could decide to sell the striker at the end of the season.

The journalist wrote: “Despite rumours, AC Milan are not currently negotiating for Folarin Balogun.

“For sure they will look to sign a striker in the summer but they don’t decide in February or March, it will be a long process.

“There are clubs in England, France and Germany monitoring Balogun, he’s really appreciated – he just needed to be a key player and play every single game, congrats to Arsenal and to him for picking Reims.

“Arsenal will make a decision at the end of the season.”

Arsenal should not sell Folarin Balogun

In our view, Arsenal should not rush into selling Folarin Balogun at the end of the season.

Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah are the two main strikers at Arsenal at the moment.

Wouldn’t it better for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta to have another option upfront?

Ligue 1 is a tough and competitive domestic league, and that Balogun is outscoring the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi of Paris Saint-Germain shows his quality.

It would make sense for Arsenal to at least see how Balogun does in pre-season before making a decision on his future.
