Nikola Vlasic wants to leave Premier League side West Ham United and ‘stay’ at Torino, agent Tonci Martic tells RB News while discussing the Croatia international’s future t the Serie A outfit.

Fortunately for Vlasic, it seems Torino feel as positively about him as he does about them.

Having recorded four goals and four assists for a Granata side sitting in seventh place, Juventus’ high-flying neighbours appear likely to trigger the £12 million option-to-buy clause in Vlasic’s contract at some point over the next few months.

It is only 18 months since West Ham invested £25 million in the Croatia international. But, despite an impressive World Cup in Qatar, Vlasic is still expected to leave the London Stadium for around 50 per cent less than David Moyes’ side paid to get him in the first place during the summer of 2021.

Nikola Vlasic could seal West Ham exit this summer

“Will Torino buy Vlasic from West Ham? I don’t know yet,” Martic admits, before indicating that his client would relish the opportunity to put pen to paper on a long-term deal.

“They still have time to resolve this issue. I can only say that Nikola is happy at Torino, and wants to stay at this club.”

Vlasic managed only six Premier League starts in West Ham colours; the one-time Everton benchwarmer failing to improve upon that disappointing stint on Merseyside during a similarly forgettable spell in the capital.

“The Torino fans are fantastic,” the Split-born playmaker said recently. “From the first day I arrived in the city, they took me by the hand. Everyone asks me to stay for a long time. I am very happy at Torino. Let’s see what happens in the summer.

“Sometimes, it happens. I was there (at West Ham) for nine months. I didn’t play, I was unhappy. Therefore, I tried to go where I would get playing time. But I’m still a West Ham player. Let’s see what happens in the summer.”
