Leeds United will hold talks with former Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder after the defeat to Manchester United at Elland Road, according to 90min.

Leeds United to hold talks with Alfred Schreuder

The report has claimed that Schreuder was at Elland Road this afternoon to watch Leeds in action against Manchester United in the Premier League.

The West Yorkshire club lost the match 2-0.

Leeds remain in grave danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

90min have reported that Leeds will now hold talks with Schreuder over replacing Jesse Marsch.

The Whites sacked the American boss just days ago after a run of poor results in the Premier League.

And it seems that Leeds now want to appoint Schreuder.

Hugely experienced

In our view, Alfred Schreuder would be a good managerial appointment for Leeds United, especially in the long run.

Now, of course, it is going to be tough for the 50-year-old Dutchman to get Leeds out of trouble this season.

After all, just like players, managers also need time to adjust to a new club in a new country.

However, if Leeds are going to hold talks with Schreuder, then they must believe that he can keep them in the Premier League and move them forward in the coming years.

Schreuder is a hugely experienced coach/manager.

The Dutchman was the assistant manager of former England boss Steve McClaren at FC Twente.

Schreuder also managed Twente, and took charge of Hoffenheim, Club Brugge and Ajax.

The Dutchman, who was an assistant manager at Barcelona in 2020-21, worked with current Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax and was sacked from his managerial role at the Dutch club in January 2023.
