Daichi Kamada plans to run down his contract and leave Eintracht Frankfurt on a free transfer with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton among the Premier League clubs eyeing up the Bundesliga playmaker, according to Sport1

Last month, Frankfurt director Markus Krosche admitted to Sky Germany that Kamada would reach a decision about his future at the Commerzbank Arena over ‘the next few weeks’.

And, if the rumours are true, then Krosche’s worst fears may have just come true. The much-coveted Japan international, Sport1’s Christopher Michel explains, has no intention of extending a contract which runs out on July 1st

Therefore, Kamada looks set to become one of the most high-profile free-agents on the market, with Tottenham, Everton, Barcelona and Bayern Munich among his reported admirers (BILD).

The stylish, velvet-toed Kamada has 13 goals and five assists in 27 games this season. A waifish 6ft, he plays the game with an effortless elegance befitting his rangy frame, while making well-placed finishes from the edge of the penalty area his trademark.

“I like the way he thinks. I like the way he plays,” Arsenal legend Thierry Henry tells CBS of Kamada.

The former Sint-Triuden ace caught Henry’s eye when working alongside Roberto Martinez for the Belgian national team.

“Not really strong, he doesn’t jump too high and he’s not really fast,” Henry adds. “But what he does very well is that he always appears in the box.

“He can’t run past people. So what he does is he lays it off, then make sure he follows and makes it inside the box. He stays alive every single time. I really like Kamada. He’s a very good player. He will find a way to score.”

Not only an impressive goalscorer, Kamada is also a scorer of ‘big’ goals. His quick-fire brace at the Emirates Stadium back in 2019 was the final straw for Unai Emery at Arsenal. Kamada was one of Frankfurt’s star players during last season’s Europa League triumph too, netting a semi-final winner away at West Ham.
