Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has been discussing Arsenal and Ben White’s recent performances.
Arsenal lost against Everton at the weekend, and, as you may imagine, the fanbase have gone into a mini-meltdown after losing to a relegation candidate.
Simply put, you can’t be losing games against these types of teams if you want to win the league.
A number of Arsenal players have come in for criticism after this game, including Ben White, but Campbell has gone out to bat for the right-back.
Indeed, the pundit says that while White’s levels have dropped lately, that is to be expected of any player, stating that It’s impossible for anyone to play well all the time.

To be expected
Campbell spoke about White’s drop off in form.
“We’re going through a sticky patch right now. Let me just say, everybody won’t play well all season, it’s impossible. Impossible, so Ben White has been incredible for the first part of the season, his level has dropped a little bit, it happens, that’s why we have a squad, that’s why you mix and match your squad,” Campbell said.
It happens
Campbell is absolutely right. Every single player in world football has their bad patches, and White is going through that right now.
However, that doesn’t make him a bad player. The same way a lack of goals last season didn’t make Lionel Messi a bad player either.
White is just having a little dip. You get that from time to time, but it won’t be long before he’s back performing to his best and helping Arsenal get on with a title charge.
Arsenal have lost just two games this season, it’s not time to over react and criticise players who have helped the Gunners get this far.
