Speaking on the Highbury Squad YouTube channel, Kevin Campbell has been discussing Arsenal’s squad depth and Emile Smith Rowe.

The midfielder has been out of action for the majority of this season with an injury, and sadly, he’s still not back to full fitness.

Questions have been asked about Arsenal’s strength in depth after a loss to Everton at the weekend, and Campbell said that the problems aren’t as big as many are making out due to the fact players like Smith Rowe are still to return.

Campbell went as far as to say that Smith Rowe could be a gamechanger for Arsenal when he’s fit.

Gamechanger

Campbell spoke about Smith Rowe.

“If Emile Smith Rowe is there, he’s another one we’re hoping he can get himself fit and get going. He’s our player, if he’s fit he’s another one who could be a gamechanger when he comes on because that’s what you’re asking about. You ask about a target man striker, we don’t have that, but we have Smith Rowe, he’s someone we can bring off the bench,” Campbell said.

A few to come back

Arsenal’s depth is being highlighted as an issue, particularly in attacking areas, but this is only a short-term problem.

Let’s not forget, Gabriel Jesus and Smith Rowe are to return from injury, while Folarin Balogun – the hottest striker in France, is also on the Gunners’ books.

Granted, Arsenal could do with more depth in the midfield, and that issue looks like it will be addressed in the summer transfer window, but in terms of gamechanging attackers, Arsenal have plenty to call upon.
