Bernardo Silva is reportedly keen to leave Manchester City in the summer amid interest from PSG and the bombshell announcement this week from the Premier League regarding the reigning English champions.

According to Le10 Sport, the Portuguese international wants a exit from City ‘more than ever’ having become an irregular starter for Pep Guardiola’s side since the Premier League return from the 2022 FIFA World Cup, with PSG keen on signing the former AS Monaco star.

With City also being charged by the Premier League with over 100 financial breaches after a four-year investigation, there is a strong chance that a good number of the club’s biggest players, such as Silva, could leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer.

Valued at €100m (£89m) last summer as per the Athletic, Silva departing City has been teased for some time, with FC Barcelona being heavily linked with the 28-year-old playmaker in the last two years. And following the Premier League’s shattering announcement this week, a departure could finally be on the cards.

Indeed, with relegation from the Premier League being touted for City, there is no telling how severely the Manchester giants will be punished in the coming months from this latest ruling. Yet for Silva, a departure from the English giants would make a lot of sense this summer.

Moreover, with PSG interested in Silva and Luis Campos already making moves behind the scenes to orchestrate a potential transfer, a deal could be agreed on sooner rather than later as the first City causality from the Premier League’s announcement appears to have revealed himself.

The Premier League’s announcement this week will cause an unprecedented shift in the top-flight the likes of which we have never seen. And depending on the ruling and the punishment set for City, Silva leaving in the summer could spark a mass exodus in the transfer window.

Whilst Silva already looked set to leave City at the end of this season, an unfavourable ruling for the Manchester side could result in many top players leaving the club for good, which could result in one of the biggest power shifts a top European league has ever seen.
