Gary Neville has compared Manchester United defensive midfielder Casemiro to Tottenham Hotspur central defender Cristian Romero on his podcast.
The Sky Sports pundit has noted that both Casemiro and Romero are similar in the way they approach the game despite the former being a midfielder and the latter a centre-back.
The former Manchester United defender made the comments about the Brazil international defensive midfielder and the Argentina international centre-back while discussing the dismissal of the former.
Both Casemiro and Romero were sent off this past weekend.
Erik ten Hag’s United got the better of Crystal Palace 2-1 at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday.
Casemiro was shown a straight red card in the 70th minute.
The £60 million (Sky Sports) midfielder was dismissed for having his hands round Will Hughes.
It was VAR Tony Harrington who spotted the incident, and after a pitchside review, referee Andre Marriner decided to send the midfielder off.
Tottenham beat Manchester City 1-0 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
Romero was sent off in the 87th minute after getting two yellow cards.
