Rio Ferdinand has said on his YouTube channel that he is not surprised that Leeds United have sacked Jesse Marsch, but he is not overly happy that they have done so just before the Premier League matches against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.
Leeds announced earlier today that they have sacked Marsch as their manager.
The American lost his job at Elland Road after a run of poor results in the Premier League.
Leeds are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The West Yorkshire club lost to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the Premier League this past weekend.
Leeds are now 17th in the Premier League table with 18 points from 20 matches, level on points with third-from-bottom Everton, who have played 21 games.
Meanwhile, Manchester United currently find themselves third in the standings with 42 points from 21 matches, just three points behind second-placed and defending champions Manchester City.
Leeds will face Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Wednesday evening.
The Whites will then face the Red Devils at Elland Road in the league next weekend.
Former England international central defender Ferdinand played for both Leeds and Manchester United.
