According to Spanish newspaper Marca, Tottenham are keen on signing both Yannick Carrasco and Jan Oblak from Atletico Madrid.
Spurs have been linked to both players for a little while, but the interesting point made in this report is how Spurs’ relationship with Atletico could help them get these deals done.
Spurs and Atletico have done plenty of business in recent years. Kieran Trippier, Sergio Reguilon and Matt Doherty have all gone from north London to the Spanish capital, while Toby Alderweireld came the other way in 2016.
This good relationship could apparently be key to Spurs getting these deals done.

It’s fair to say that both Carrasco and Oblak would be decent additions to this Spurs side.
Carrasco is a wide player who has been performing at the top level for years, and he’s also able to play as a wing-back when needed – a big plus for Antonio Conte.
Jan Oblak, meanwhile, has long been regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. The Slovenian has been a key player for Atletico Madrid for ages, and he’s made sure that the club didn’t miss Thibaut Courtois when his loan spell came to an end. With Hugo Lloris now at the twilight of his career, Oblak could be a great long-term replacement for the French international.
It remains to be seen whether Atletico Madrid will be willing to part ways with these two key players. However, with Tottenham’s interest, they might just be willing to do business with a club that has managed to work its way into their good books.
These could be two game-changing signing for Spurs, and it’s certainly a situation to keep an eye on as we approach the summer transfer window.
