Paul Merson has written in The Daily Star that he is shocked that Graham Potter’s Chelsea sold Jorginho to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the January transfer window.
The Sky Sports pundit has said that Jorginho is perfect for Arsenal and has outlined how he could help the Gunners.
The former Arsenal star cannot believe that Chelsea did not keep the Italy international midfielder at the club for the rest of the season.
The Italy international midfielder moved to Arsenal from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea on the final day of the January transfer window.
Paul Merson on Chelsea selling Jorginho to Arsenal
Merson wrote about Jorginho: “He is perfect for Arsenal and he doesn’t even have to play every week. Jorginho will help the Gunners dominate the ball and control matches – all for just £12m.
“I’m shocked Chelsea let him go for that. I know his contract is up in the summer but that’s a cup of tea to the Blues. He could have shown Enzo Fernandez the ropes but Chelsea’s loss is Arsenal’s gain.”
Good signing for the Gunners
In our view, Jorginho is a brilliant signing for Arsenal and could help them win the Premier League title this season.
The Gunners are already in a very good position in the Premier League table now.
And Jorginho can only help Arsenal in the second half of the season.
The Italy international is hugely experienced and has a winning mentality.
Jorginho won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea and the European Championship with Italy.
