Leicester City were preparing to welcome Jack Harrison to the King Power Stadium on deadline day, with the Leeds United winger all set for a medical, according to reports by The Athletic.

The 26-year-old Englishman has been an important player for Leeds this season, starting 15 league games for the Whites this term.

Harrison’s move to Leicester City would have been a significant boost for the Foxes, who have been in the market for more attacking firepower after a slow start to the season.

However, the deal was reportedly pulled by Leeds United at the last minute, much to the surprise of Leicester City who were getting Harrison prepped for a medical.

In fact, The Athletic report that the medical tests had actually started at Leicester’s training ground before Leeds pulled the plug.

The reason for Leeds’ decision to keep hold of the ‘fantastic’ winger is yet to be revealed, but the player himself may be a bit miffed by this move as he was in line for a payrise and a longer contract.

Despite the missed opportunity, Leicester City’s fans will be pleased to see that their club is making ambitious moves in the transfer market after a glum summer that saw minimal additions to a squad that was ageing.

Whether or not this move is revisited in the summer remains to be seen, but as Harrison enters the final year of his Leeds contract, one has to imagine he will be on the market at the right price.

Jack Harrison’s proposed move to Leicester City on deadline day was an exciting prospect, but the deal was reportedly pulled by Leeds United at the last minute.

It will be intriguing to see what sort of role Harrison plays at Elland Road between now and the end of the season.
