According to The Athletic, Moises Caicedo had his head turned by the prospect of joining Arsenal and winning the Premier League title this season.
The report states that the ‘incredible’ midfielder was seriously considering a move to the North London club and was keen to join a team that was top of the league and in with a serious shot at the title.
This news is a testament to the growth and progression of Arsenal under Mikel Arteta.

In recent years, the club has struggled to attract the best players in the world and have often been beaten to the punch by teams that have been competing for major honours. However, Arsenal are now establishing themselves back amongst the elite-class.
Indeed, this season has been different. Arsenal are currently top of the league, have a strong manager in Arteta and have a talented squad that is capable of winning the title.
The interest from Caicedo, who is considered one of the hottest prospects in world football, is a sign that the Emirates is starting to get back to being considered one of the hottest destinations in Europe.
This is due to the success they are having on the field and the strong reputation that Arteta is building as a manager.
Arsenal made two bids for Caicedo, but ultimately were unable to secure his signature. However, the fact that they were able to attract a player of his calibre shows that they are moving in the right direction and are starting to compete with some of the best clubs in Europe.
Don’t be too surprised if Arsenal do end up making a big name signing this summer after managing to convince Caicedo that he would stand a chance of winning the league with Arsenal.
