Everton transfer news was almost non existent on deadline day as Farhad Moshiri and Bill Kenwright let Sean Dyche down.

Not a penny of the £45m Anthony Gordon fee was reinvested into new signings for the 51-year-old as he aims to lift Everton away from 19th in the Premier League.

As a result, the Toffees have no choice but to dip into the free agent market if they want reinforcements, so let’s take a look at some options Everton could offer contracts to…

Artem Dzyuba

The Russia international joined Adana Demirspor back in August, but saw his contract terminated in November after just five appearances.

With doubts over the fitness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Neal Maupay struggling for goals, a short-term deal for Dzyuba, who has scored 195 goals throughout his career, wouldn’t be the worst move for Dyche.

Interestingly, the 34-year-old has attracted interest from one of England’s leading sides in Tottenham, with Dzyuba himself confirming Spurs wanted him, and he wanted them.

He told Sport Express: “When Harry Kane got injured, people contacted me about a move to Spurs. Of course I wanted to try at Tottenham Hotspur. I understand that Zenit was not interested.”

Standing at 6ft 6in, Dzyuba would be ideal for Dyche in his preferred 4-4-2.

Andre Ayew

Kevin Thelwell – Director of Football at Everton – actually seems to be aware of this one.

According to the Independent, the Toffees are in talks to sign Ayew – the brother of Jordan Ayew and son of Abedi Pele – after he left Al Sadd.

The 33-year-old knows the Premier League well having made 89 appearances for Swansea and West Ham in England’s top-flight, scoring 21 goals while also providing nine assists.

Isco

The Spain international, known for his silky dribbling and passing ability, isn’t exactly a typical Dyche midfielder, although he represents an interesting option after having his contract at Sevilla terminated in December.

Isco could provide a bit of creativity from the middle of the park for Everton alongside the steely Amadou Onana, in similar fashion to James Rodriguez during his short stint on Merseyside.

A five-time Champions League winner, the 30-year-old is by far the most high profile free agent out there right now after a deal to join Union Berlin broke down on deadline day.
