Tottenham Hotspur are finally set to sign Pedro Porro with the Sporting wing back flying to London late on Monday night ahead of a move.

That’s according to Sky Sports News, who reported late on Monday that Porro was flying into London immediately.

Reports on Monday morning suggested that Porro’s protracted move to Tottenham had collapsed, leaving the defender ‘distraught’.

Tottenham just about managed to resurrect the deal though and will be paying a deal worth more than £39million in instalments.

Tottenham have also agreed to waive their 15% sell-on clause on Marcus Edwards, finally agreeing to a deal with Sporting.

Fabrizio Romano adds that Porro will be ‘landing in London’ overnight with his agents as a deal finally gets done.

Pedro Porro reflects on Tottenham drama at Lisbon airport

This has been a frankly bonkers few days for Porro.

The Spanish wing back looked set to join Tottenham towards the end of last week.

Porro lined up for Sporting in their Taca da Liga final defeat to Porto on Saturday and the expectation was that he would be heading to London promptly.

The deal then looked set to fall apart before Porro was finally given permission to make the trip to England.

Porro was interviewed at Lisbon airport late on Monday night with CNN Portugal managing to grab a few words with him.

Porro denied that he refused to train on Monday but simply asked Sporting if he could be left out as his head wasn’t in the right place.

The 23-year-old admitted that he is ‘grateful’ that Sporting understood his request whilst they continued to negotiate with Tottenham.

Porro noted that he is ‘very happy’ with his move to Spurs but thanked Sporting for giving him everything.

Finally, Porro noted that he hasn’t yet spoken to Antonio Conte and didn’t even know himself why the deal was in danger.

A quality attacking wing back with 11 assists in all competitions this season, Porro will hopefully be the wing back Conte so desperately wanted on the right side.
