Sky Sports News have dropped a bit of a bombshell on deadline day.
Indeed, speaking on Sky Sports News (9:38AM), Tom White has provided an update on Arsenal’s pursuit of Jorginho, echoing the message being put out by both Fabrizio Romano and David Ornstein that the player is close to signing for Arsenal.
However, Sky also report that the Gunners actually want to sign Moises Caicedo as well as Jorginho, stating that the ‘incredible’ midfielder could also arrive alongside the Italian.
Many believed that Jorginho was the alternative to Caicedo, but this update suggests there could be two midfield arrivals at the Emirates today.
Jorginho and Caicedo could join
White shared his information on this situation.
“We have some big breaking news now. We have been keeping up with this throughout the morning. Arsenal are now close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea for midfielder Jorginho,” The reporter said.
“All parties are willing and hopeful that a move will be done in time. Jorginho is in the final six months of his contract. Now, this is important, he’s not seen as an alternative to Moises Caicedo. Arsenal are ready to do a deal for Caicedo if Brighton change their stance, that stance has been that he’s not for sale. If that changes, Arsenal are ready to do that as well as bring in Jorginho.”

Adding both Jorginho and Caicedo to the Arsenal squad would give the team a much-needed boost heading into the final stretch of the season.
The Gunners have been hit by an injury to Mohamed Elneny, which has left them short in midfield, and the addition of two quality players would provide the team with incredible quality and depth in the middle of the park.
All of a sudden, Arsenal’s midfield could genuinely be the very best in England, and that surely makes them heavy favourites for the title.
If Arsenal sign both Caicedo and Jorginho today, it will be a deadline day for the ages.
