Sasa Lukic bid farewell to the Torino supporters on Monday ahead of a potential £11.5 million move to Premier League outfit Fulham, in quotes reported by Sport Italia.

It’s never simple is it, Fulham supporters?

The Cottagers have got used to long-running transfer sagas in recent times. And, after deals for the likes of Manor Solomon and Cedric Soares dragged on for far longer than anyone would have wanted, history appears to be repeating itself. Lukic’s arrival at Craven Cottage is yet to be confirmed with the clock ticking down to tonight’s 11pm deadline.

“Greetings to all the Toro fans,” the Serbia international is reported as saying. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Fulham still hope to land Sasa Lukic from Serie A outfit Torino

According to talkSPORT, however, Lukic was still yet to board a flight to London by Tuesday morning. There is still confidence that a deal can be sealed in time, at least; Fulham having already laid substantial groundwork by agreeing an £11.5 million with Torino. £9 million will be paid up front.

Lukic has seemingly given the green light to a four-and-a-half year contract too. One that will see him take home almost £40,000-a-week in the English capital.

“I was with him in Turin,” Juventus’ former Granata defender Gleison Bremer tells Mozzart Sport of Lukic. “He is an excellent midfielder.”

Lukic, once of Partizan Belgrade, has spent seven years in Italy. He is ready for a new adventure and a fresh start, with Fulham offering the 26-year-old exactly that. Lukic will provide some strength in depth to an in-form but rather thin midfield. Marco Silva lacks genuine cover for the beastly Joao Palhinha in the centre of the park, while Nathaniel Chalobah could have his contract terminated ahead of a potential switch to West Brom.

Fulham’s pursuit of Sander Berge, meanwhile, appears to have ground to a half. Berge, the Yorkshire Live say, reported for training on Tuesday. As did the Everton-linked Senegal international Iliman Ndiaye.
