Crystal Palace are reportedly set to sign young midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga on loan from Arsenal.

According to Get French Football News, The Belgian is said to be set for a medical with the Eagles ahead of a temporary move to Selhurst Park.

Lokonga has been on the fringes at Arsenal this season and is in need of more playing time and experience to help him reach his full potential.

The loan move to Palace provides the perfect opportunity for him to get the minutes he needs to grow as a player.

The move also sees the ‘intelligent’ midfielder unite with Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, who is, of course, the manager of Arsenal. Vieira is highly regarded for his ability to nurture young talent and help players reach their full potential, and his presence at Palace is will surely be a huge boost for Lokonga’s development.

Let’s not forget, Vieira was a world-class midfielder himself in his day, and he surely has a thing or two to teach Lokonga.

Arsenal are set to sign Jorginho from Chelsea to help cover the injury of Mohamed Elneny. But with Lokonga joining Palace on loan, the Gunners’ midfield is, once again, looking rather light.

Crystal Palace have a reputation for nurturing young talent and helping players improve during loan spells, with Conor Gallagher being a prime example of this last season.

Gallagher’s successful loan spell at Palace last year saw him establish himself as one of the most exciting young prospects in the Premier League, and all parties will be hoping that Lokonga can follow in his footsteps.

Overall, this loan move to Palace represents a huge opportunity for Lokonga to develop as a player and help establish himself as a key player for both Palace and Arsenal in the future. With the right guidance and support from Vieira, there’s no telling what the Belgian midfielder can achieve at Selhurst Park.
