Everton and Chelsea are now in talks over the transfer of Conor Gallagher at the request of Sean Dyche. The new Toffees boss is leading the club’s interest in a move on deadline day.
That is according to Sky Sports, which reports Dyche identified Gallagher as one of his ideal first signings with Everton. The Goodison Park natives appointed the 51-year-old to replace Frank Lampard in charge on Monday. But he faces a fierce battle to sign the Blues product.
A host of Premier League teams have also approached Chelsea to enquire into Gallagher’s availability for a last-gasp transfer. Teams have strived to explore the likelihood of the 22-year-old leaving on loan or in a permanent transfer as Graham Potter targets midfielders.

Everton are prepared to pay Chelsea an upfront £40m plus add-ons to secure a permanent transfer for Gallagher. He has been a key player for the west London outfit so far this term under Thomas Tuchel and Potter. But the arrival of new players could limit his game time.
Chelsea also need to recoup some cash having fluttered millions in the mid-season market. So, Dyche has told Everton to target a transfer as he believes Gallagher can help take their engine room to another level. The Blues are also prepared to sell their academy graduate.

Chelsea are looking to sell Gallagher as Dyche targets his transfer to Everton
The Daily Mail reports that Chelsea will look to offload Gallagher on deadline day given the club’s mid-season transfer outlay. So, they may appreciate Everton’s bid of £40m plus add-ons for a four-cap England international. He is also not a guaranteed starter under Potter.
Gallagher has featured in 18 Premier League games so far this season for one goal and one assist. But the Epsom-born technician has only started in nine games and only opened one Champions League group stage fixture. He featured in five of their six Group E encounters.
Tuchel, who called Gallagher ‘extraordinary and outstanding’ last April, further started him in three of a possible five Premier League games this season. While Potter has only chosen the midfielder to start in six of a possible 14, including two of their six since the World Cup.
