The Newcastle transfer news is hotting up.
It was reported on Friday that the Magpies had agreed a £45 million deal with Everton to sign Anthony Gordon.
Gordon arrived at Toffees’ training yesterday, having been absent from Finch Farm for much of the week.
But that return to the training ground hasn’t proven to be related to a possible stay on Merseyside.
And according to Sky Sports’ reporter Keith Downie, the player – who earns £10,000 per week at Everton [Spotrac] – is ‘set to be announced’ after passing his medical ahead of a move to St James’s Park.

HITC Sport wrote earlier on Saturday that spending so much on Gordon was a major risk by Newcastle.
And honestly, it truly is.
Everyone knows that the Everton winger is a big talent, but he’s still only 21 and hasn’t got a lot of Premier League experience under his belt.
The Goodison Park outfit will be delighted to pick up £45 million for such a raw player and although he will definitely improve under Eddie Howe, making him their second-most expensive signing of all time is very steep indeed.
