Roy Keane has spoken highly of Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard on ITV (8:56pm, January 27, 2023) for his performance against Manchester City in the first half of the fourth round of the FA Cup tie at the Etihad Stadium on Friday evening.

Keane was hugely impressed by Trossard in the opening 45 minutes of the tie, and said that he looked like an Arsenal player.

The Manchester United legend, who was following the match for ITV, said that the 28-year-old Belgium international winger looked “brave”.

Trossard, who joined Arsenal from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window and earns £90,000 per week (The Daily Mail), started the game for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The winger was deployed on the left-back of a front-three and played until the 66th minute when he was substituted.

Keane said about Trossard: “Considering that he has been at the club for only a couple of weeks, he looks like an Arsenal-type of player. He looks brave, obviously he knows the league very well.”

Impressive

In our view, Leandro Trossard played well for Arsenal against Manchester City in the first half of the FA Cup tie at the Etihad Stadium on Friday evening.

The 28-year-old Belgium international winger was a force to be reckoned with in the first half and caused the City players all sorts of problems.

Trossard could have scored had City goalkeeper Stefan Ortega not made a great save.

The former Brighton star was very good on the ball, ran with it well, ran at opposition players, and connected well with the other Arsenal attacking players.

The 28-year-old enjoyed the space that he got, and he seemed to understand Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s game-plan perfectly.

Now, of course, there were one or two occasions when the winger could have done better with his decision-making, but overall it was a very good performance from the Arsenal January signing.
