Ian Wright has raved about Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard on ITV (8:55pm, January 27, 2023) for his performance against Manchester City in the first half of FA Cup fourth-round tie at the Etihad Stadium on Friday evening.

Wright was hugely impressed by Trossard in the opening 45 minutes of the match, and said that Manchester City players were afraid of the Arsenal winger.

The Arsenal legend was following the match for ITV.

Trossard, who joined Arsenal from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the January transfer window, started the game for Mikel Arteta’s side.

Wright said about Trossard: “He is getting the ball, he is getting at people. As soon as he gets the ball, he is ready. They are afraid of him, they are afraid to tackle him.”

Impressive

In our view, Leandro Trossard played well for Arsenal against Manchester City in the first half of the FA Cup tie.

The 28-year-old Belgium international winger was a force to be reckoned with in the first half and caused the City players all sorts of problems.

Trossard was very good on the ball, ran with it well, ran at opposition players, and connected well with the other Arsenal attacking players.

Now, of course, there were one or two occasions when the winger could have done better with his decision-making, but we think that Arsenal fans will be pleased with what they saw from Trossard against defending Premier League champions City, especially in the first half.
