Arsenal and Chelsea target Moises Caicedo has seemingly shared a goodbye post to his current club on Instagram, leaving fans of both the Gunners and the Blues wondering if they’re about to sign him. The post’s caption read:
“I am grateful to Mr. Bloom and Brighton for giving me the chance to come to the Premier League and I feel I have always done my best for them. I always play football with a smile and with heart.”
“I am the youngest of 10 siblings from a poor upbringing in Santa Domingo in Ecuador. My dream always to be the most decorated player in the history of Ecuador.
“I am proud to be able to bring in a record transfer fee for Brighton which would allow them to reinvest it and help the club continue to be successful.
“The fans have taken me into their hearts and they will always be in my heart so I hope they can understand why I want to take up this magnificent opportunity.”
Caicedo joined Brighton in January 2021 from Ecuadorian club Independiente Del Valle. Despite being young, he has already made an impact on the south coast, and has quickly become a fan favourite.
But it appears that the Ecuadorian international may be on the move once again, as he seems to have bid farewell to the Seagulls. In the post, Caicedo also said that he is proud to have brought in a record transfer fee for Brighton, which suggests he’ll be moving for more than £60m – the fee Brighton received for Marc Cucurella in the summer.
While the post doesn’t specify where Caicedo is headed, it’s been reported that both Arsenal and Chelsea have bid for him, while Liverpool are interested too.
Caicedo will surely go down as one of Brighton’s best signings in recent history, and, as his post says, he’s done amazingly, to make it so far within the game after a difficult start in life.
It remains to be seen what the future holds for the young midfielder, but one thing is certain – he will be missed by Brighton fans, who have taken him to their hearts. And as he said in his post, he will always hold a special place in his heart for the Seagulls and their supporters.
