Moises Caicedo has told Brighton and Hove Albion that he wants to join Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the final days of the January transfer window, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter and on his YouTube channel.

Romano has claimed that Arsenal have told Brighton that they will pay them £60 million in transfer fees for Caicedo, and that the Gunners have offered the 21-year-old Ecuador international midfielder a “long-term contract”.

The journalist has added that the youngster has told Brighton that he wants to make the move to Arsenal.

Romano has added that Chelsea remain keen on Caicedo as well.

The Daily Mail have added that the young midfielder is ready to push through a move to Arsenal or Chelsea this month.

Could a January transfer happen?

In our view, if Moises Caicedo wants to join Arsenal, then it is very likely that a move will happen in the final days of the January transfer window.

Yes, Brighton want to keep the 21-year-old and have turned down a bid from Chelsea, but now it seems that the midfielder himself wants to leave the club.

Would the Seagulls really keep a player against his will when they could get at least £60 million for him now?

We think that Brighton could play Arsenal and Chelsea against each other and get them into a bidding war, which could see them get much more than the £60 million on offer from the Gunners.
