Jose Enrique stated on Instagram that he would sign Kaoru Mitoma for Liverpool over Arsenal’s new signing Leandro Trossard because he would be a better long-term option.
The Liverpool-mad pundit was asked – from Mitoma and Trossard – if you could pick either one to be in your side, then which one would you pick?
Trossard is Brighton’s top-scorer this season with seven goals and now that he has gone to Arsenal, then he has left a big void in the team, so you thought!

This is where Brighton’s recruitment is outstanding and they already have a ready-made replacement performing just as well as Trossard was doing prior to his exit.
Mitoma, who scored a stunning curling effort during his side’s 2-2 draw at Leicester City over the weekend, has four goals from 14 Premier League games – it resulted in former England striker Michael Owen claiming that he is the best pound-for-pound signing in the Premier League this season, even ahead of Erling Haaland.
Nonetheless, when Enrique was asked to pick between Trossard or Mitoma for his team, he issued the following response in the comments section of Football Joe’s IG page.
“Both of them are fantastic footballers,” said Enrique. “But Mitoma is a young option, so I would take him (at Liverpool) before Trossard because you would have more time with him.”
MITOMA FLYING HIGH
Time and time again, Brighton sell their best players, yet, the next one in line seems to be better than the one that just left.
Mitoma, dubbed ‘really exciting amid Arsenal transfer interest, does seem to have the same characteristics as Trossard in the sense that they are very aggressive ball carriers, they like that quick movement and link-up play in between pockets and they have game-changing acceleration.
Either way, the Japan star’s progression during these coming months and into next season is going to be very interesting.
