Arsenal have an injury concern in the form of Mohamed Elneny.
Even Mikel Arteta used that word itself – ‘concern’ – when discussing the former Basel midfielder on Wednesday, as covered by HITC Sport.
The Arsenal manager conceded that Elneny’s injury may force them into the transfer market for another similar player.
But it might be a little more than just a concern.
That’s because The Times have reported that it’s possible Elneny will miss the rest of the season with Arsenal.

The Egypt international has a knee problem that has sidelined him for recent outings and going by that publication, it’s possible that he will not play again during the 2022-23 campaign.
This might not seem like a blow because, honestly, Elneny – labelled ‘special’ by Arteta in 2020 [GOAL] – hasn’t been a big player this season.
But he is a big player for Arsenal.
You need only remember his performances during the last couple of months of the 2021-22 campaign to remember that he was a driving force behind some massive results, like winning away to Chelsea for instance.
And with Thomas Partey and Granit Xhaka hardly boasting flawless injury records, well it’s a serious problem for Arsenal – who are top of the Premier League – if one of them joins Elneny on the treatment table.
