Jobi McAnuff and Lee Hendrie have reacted to the transfer rumours that Tottenham Hotspur are about to hijack and secure a deal for Everton target and Villarreal winger, Arnaut Danjuma.
Whilst this news is joy to those at Hotspur Way, it’s another body blow for relegation-threatened Everton, who are taking hit after hit this season.
And as former Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendire put it, ‘when it rains, it pours’, as he told Sky Sports News (24/01/23 at 7:20 pm).

Following Everton’s 2-0 defeat to West Ham United, they hit another low. They are sitting in the Premier League’s relegation zone, but the ray of light is Danjuma himself.
Even though Frank Lampard was sacked, the 25-year-old’s deal to move to Merseyside was signed, sealed, but not yet delivered, there are even suggestions that he did media duties with the club.
That’s when Tottenham came swooping in to hit the Toffees with a sucker punch, but what’s the north London club’s gain, will be Everton’s loss, and a massive one at that given their situation.
“You have a manager coming in, who is to say, he’s not going to want one or two players,” said McAnuff. “We have heard potentially Danjuma maybe that’s not happening now. It looked like it was nailed on.
“Has the managerial situation affected that possible transfer? That shows how important it is to make a quick decision.”
“When things are going against you, when it rains, it pours, doesn’t it?!” said Hendrie. “These are all the things they will have to get through.
“I have said. I think there is a squad capable of staying in the Premier League.”

CAN DANJUMA THRIVE UNDER CONTE?
Last January, Antonio Conte added Dejan Kulusevski to his ranks from Juventus, and fast forward to the present, he is one of the best and most efficient forwards in the Premier League.
Could Danjuma have a similar effect? Well, European football expert, Kevin Hatchard backed the former Bournemouth player, who is ‘dynamic’, to thrive in the Premier League.
This could still get worse for Everton because, if Danjuma cooks in north London, and they continue to slide, then it’s just going to be like somebody is laughing in their faces.
