It was reported on Tuesday that Leeds United were in the race for Weston McKennie’s signature, and it looks as though this transfer is moving very quickly.

Indeed, according to Di Marzio, the player himself has now given the green light on this move, with McKennie reportedly approving transfer to Elland Road.

McKennie is said to like the idea of joining Leeds, and it’s not hard to understand why a move to Elland Road may appeal to the Juventus star.

Indeed, not only would he be a key player in West Yorkshire, it would also be a great cultural fit for McKennie.

The Whites play a high-octane style, which suits the ‘excellent’ midfielder to a tee, while they also have a number of Americans on the books already.

With the likes of Tyler Adams, Brendan Aaronson and Jesse Marsch already at the club, McKennie shouldn’t struggle when it comes to settling into life in Yorkshire, even if Turin and Leeds couldn’t be anymore different as cities.

Of course, just because McKennie has approved the move, that doesn’t mean that this transfer is going to go ahead.

Juventus and Leeds still need to come to an agreement on a fee, and that is now what Leeds are working on.

The Whites may not have too much left in the bank after finalising deals for Max Wober and Georginio Rutter already this month, but given that they’re currently staring down the barrel of a relegation scrap, they could look to gamble and spend even bigger this month to bolster their midfield.

This is certainly one to keep an eye on as we enter the final days of the transfer window,
