As per a report by the Athletic, Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is ‘fond’ of Chelsea striker, Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and he could ‘explore’ the option of signing him in the summer.
Emery may eye Aubameyang reunion at Aston Villa
The pair worked together at Arsenal and it’s safe to say that their working relationship was a resounding success.
While the Gunners as a collective were not making headlines for the right reasons, the £160,000-a-week frontman was, as he quickly cemented his reputation as one of the finest strikers in the Premier League.
It seems Unai Emery is still an admirer of Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang, despite his stock plummeting since the past few years and would be open to a potential reunion at Aston Villa in the summer.

The initial report has stated that despite the club having Ollie Watkins at their disposal, and having recently signed Jhon Duran, the Spanish tactician is still looking for a brand-new striker.
The club certainly have a goalscoring problem on their hands, with sides such as Leeds United and Leicester City having outscored them so far this season.
In our view: Emery should steer clear of the ageing striker
As has been evident from witnessing Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang in a Chelsea shirt, he is far from a reliable goalscorer anymore, which should be enough to convince Unai Emery not to bring him in at Aston Villa.
Paul Merson went as far as to say on Sky Sports that he feels the ex-Borussia Dortmund hero is ‘done’ at Stamford Bridge.
While the Gabonese international did manage to redeem himself at Barcelona, his final 1 and a half seasons at Arsenal and now, at Chelsea are proof that the once-prolific hitman is well past his sell-by date.
Considering the wages a superstar name such as Aubameyang is likely to demand from Aston Villa as well, a potential signing makes little to no sense for Emery and his side in the summer.
