Ian Darke says it’s ‘crazy’ from Everton owner Farhad Moshiri if they appoint former Leeds United boss, Marcelo Bielsa, as their next manager.

The football commentator added that someone like Bielsa doesn’t suit Everton right now because he would have to come in midway through the season and that to a struggling side.

It’s something that the world-renowned coach hasn’t done during his career, plus, he has made it clear before that he always needs pre-season to get his players up to the standards that he wants – and they are seriously, seriously high.

There are claims that, not only is Everton owner Moshiri looking to bring Bielsa in, but he’s the number one target to replace the recently-sacked, Frank Lampard.

The 67-year-old was last in a job less than 12 months ago, when he was in the Leeds United dugout, before he was sacked as they continued to concede goal after goal and slip down the table.

Well, now he could be returning to England’s top-flight and football commentator Ian Darke has raised his concern about what he is hearing regarding Everton’s next manager, as he told ESPN.

“Not Bielsa, not at this point, that would be crazy, I think,” said Darke. “His style of working with the team is to play at 100 miles-per-hour.

“It would be like asking a string quartet to suddenly go through the rolling stones routine. I don’t think they can do that, with this squad of players halfway through the season.

“Maybe the answer is to go with a caretaker until the end of the season. Someone experienced. Maybe like Sean Dyche.”

BIELSA WOULD BE A RISK

It’s all about the style of play with Bielsa and whether or not the current players, who have played a major part in Everton being in the relegation zone, can deal with what he brings to the table.

On one hand, the draconian-like nature he will bring to the club, is needed because players need a kick up the backside.

But, one thing is for sure, it’s a far stretch from what Sean Dyche would bring to the table, if he were to ever be appointed.
