Rafael Leao has been linked with Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, and one of his former teammates’ comments that he could be better than Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe will surely encourage the Emirates Stadium faithful.

Leao is one of the best young forwards around, and Arsenal are among the clubs who have been linked with the AC Milan and Portugal international star.

According to GiveMeSport, Arsenal have real interest in Leao and are keen on bringing him to the Emirates Stadium in the summer of 2023.

Arsenal’s London and Premier League rivals Chelsea also reportedly want to secure the services of the 23-year-old, who played at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, in the summer of 2023.

Lille defender Tiago Djalo has raved about Leao, and believes that the forward could surpass Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe.

Djalo played with the Portuguese star at French club Lille, and he thinks that the 23-year-old could become the best player in the world.

Tiago Djalo on Arsenal target Rafael Leao

Djalo said about Leao to MilanNews, as translated by SempreMilan, when asked if Leao could reach the level of Mbappe and Haaland: “For me, yes. Two years ago I told him he had everything to reach the top level in the world.

“And do you know what he replied? That I was crazy! (laughs). I’ve known Leão for a long time, we were roommates at Sporting.

“He has always been a talent and therefore I have never stopped believing in him. He is going strong and if he continues on this path for 2-3 years he will become one of the best players in the world, perhaps the best.”
