Sean Dyche may want the Everton job but the Toffees are thought to be a little unsure over whether he is the right man for the job.

Everton sacked Frank Lampard on Monday evening as another manager bites the dust at Goodison Park.

Lampard lasted less than a year at Everton, and Saturday’s defeat away at West Ham United proved to be the final nail in the coffin.

Lampard joins Roberto Martinez, Ronald Koeman, Sam Allardyce, Marco Silva, Carlo Ancelotti and Rafael Benitez as Farhad Moshiri continues to go through managers at Everton.

Just who Everton want now is unclear, but the job is still enticing to some managers despite Everton’s notable struggles on and off the pitch.

Sean Dyche fancies Everton job – but Toffees unsure

One name in the mix is Sean Dyche.

The Sun claimed earlier this month that Dyche is interested in becoming Everton manager whenever the job becomes available.

That day has now come, and transfer insider Dean Jones told Give Me Sport on Monday that Dyche is ‘very interested’ in the Everton position.

However, The Sun’s Alan Nixon claims that Everton have looked at Dyche and just aren’t sure whether he is the right manager for the job.

Dyche, 51, has history of coping with relegation battles having consistently kept Burnley in the Premier League before last season.

Sacked by Burnley in April, Dyche was let go after nearly 10 years in the job after some miraculous work at Turf Moor.

Dyche guided Burnley to promotion twice and even took them into Europe all whilst uniting the fanbase right behind him.

Everton do need that kind of unity right now and Dyche’s know-how in the lower reaches of the Premier League table makes him an appealing candidate.

Yet with Dyche’s brand of football maybe not excite fans and Everton may believe that they need to go in another direction.

Everton can’t rush to appoint a manager they’re unsure on, but maybe they should still at least speak to Dyche and gauge his suitability after sacking Lampard.
